DBS isn't a formal medical diagnosis, but the condition can contribute to pain in other parts of the body, Kolba told the Ohio news site. "It basically refers to the gluteus maximus or the glute muscles just not functioning as efficiently as they should," said Chris Kolba, a physical therapist at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center who coined the term, in an interview with CBS News.
